Moreover, she underwent training at USJ’s healthcare center where she conducted cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT).

At Nawfal Clinics, Ms.Abou Samah practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with adolescents and young adults. Her main focus includes anxiety, panic attacks, depression, phobias, OCD and personality disorders.

Along with working in her private clinic, Ms. Abou-Samah has a passion for gaining knowledge daily. Being a human rights advocate, she’s taken several courses accredited by the APA in treating trauma, and she has experience in this field with all age groups.

Vision & Values:
Being an active member of several NGOs such as Scouts of Lebanon, Ms. Abou-Samah believes that every person is unique and deserves to be respected, listened to and cared for, without any judgment nor discrimination. Above all, Ms. Abou-Samah ascertains the highest levels of ethics, confidentiality and anonymity.

When she’s asked about when to seek treatment, Ms. Abou-Samah replies “it’s not about how big the problem is, it’s about how much this problem is affecting your daily functioning”.

Concerning how long the treatment is, Ms. Abou-Samah believes that the goal of therapy is to promote wellbeing, improve one’s quality of life, and most importantly to become independent from your therapist’s help, after learning several needed skills via cognitive-behavioral therapy,  along with new strategies to manage future struggles without being destabilized by it.

Awards & Consistency:
Ms. Abou-Samah has won the Prize of “Personal Content” in a conference about Trauma, after sharing her treatment of a successful psychotherapy with a child who suffered from sexual abuse, when she was only a Master’s student at Saint-Joseph University.

Ms. Abou-Samah believes that knowledge is something to chase every day, therefore she constantly enrolls in workshops and trainings to develop her skills and to provide an evidence-based treatment that is both efficient and personalized to each person’s needs, goals, age and culture.
